Founded on Clarity
Dharma Counsel was established in Bangkok in 2009 by attorneys who had each spent a decade in Thai corporate practice and shared a particular frustration — that legal counsel, as it was often delivered, left clients less confident rather than more. The work produced results, but the client frequently left with more questions than they arrived with.
The firm was formed around a different premise: that good legal advice is measured not by the density of the document, but by the clarity of the outcome. From the beginning, we structured each engagement to communicate as directly as the law permits — honest about risk, specific about process, and consistent in delivery.
Today, Dharma Counsel advises a portfolio of Thai and international clients across business formation, commercial contracts, and corporate governance. The practice has remained deliberately focused, allowing us to maintain quality across everything we take on rather than spreading thinly across every area of law.
Our office in Sathorn serves as the primary point of contact for clients throughout Thailand and internationally, with documentation routinely produced in both Thai and English to serve the full range of our client base.

Dharma Counsel operates from Bangkok's Sathorn district, advising clients across Thailand's principal commercial sectors. The firm's practice concentrates on the legal requirements that most directly affect businesses operating within the Thai regulatory framework — entity structuring, commercial documentation, and ongoing governance obligations.
Thai commercial law presents particular considerations for both domestic operators and international investors. Corporate formation requirements, foreign business limitations, BOI eligibility criteria, and contract enforceability under Thai civil and commercial law each demand informed attention. The firm's attorneys have developed practical experience with these issues across more than fifteen years of client engagements.
For businesses requiring contract review, Dharma Counsel approaches each document with attention to Thai legal standards and commercial context. The goal is not to produce lengthy legal opinions but to give clients a clear view of what a document commits them to — and where the terms warrant negotiation or amendment before execution.
